Now that I have a Zoku popsicle maker, popsicles have become my favorite food group. Today I made a batch of homemade fudgesicles. It is the recipe that my mom used to make back in the ’70’s with her Tupperware popsicle mold. (Did your mom have one of those too?)
It took her a few days to find the recipe again, but she finally found the sticky scrap of paper stuck to the back of another recipe card. I am so glad that she did, because these fudgesicles are better than I remembered! I actually ate 6 of them for lunch…. I dipped a few of them in chocolate and sprinkles to make a prettier photo, but they are great on their own.
Mom’s Fudgesicle Recipe
2 cups milk, cold
1/2 cup evaporated milk (non-sweetened)
1 – 3.75 oz Jello chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
1/4 cup granulated sugar
Wisk all ingredients together in a bowl for 2 minutes or until the pudding mix is fully incorporated. Pour mixture into popsicle molds and freeze.
Special Effects: After the fudgesicles set up, I poured Hershey’s Chocolate Shell Topping on top and immediately rolled them into crumbled Oreos and sprinkles. The topping flavors and combinations are endless!
