Is Your Hair Everywhere?

Ladies, does your husband complain about your hair on the bathroom floor?  Mine sure does!  He is always complaining that there is hair everywhere in the bathroom.  I try to sweep the floor a few times each week, but the hair seems to build up anyway.  My husband suggested cutting my hair short…but that seemed too drastic.  I think I have finally found a solution which might actually save both marriages and hair styles!

Is Your Hair Everywhere? by The Sweet Spot Blog

The Container Store came to the rescue once again.  This lightweight, upright broom and dustpan easily fit behind my bathroom door.  It is just like the one that my hair dresser uses, except the dustpan closes fully in the upright position to trap in the hair.  I simply do a quick sweep once I finish getting ready in the mornings, then I dump the dust pan contents once a week.

My only complaint is that I did not make this change earlier…it would have saved us 10 years of hair complaints!

Read the reviews before you buy this. You may find that sweeping everyday would be cheaper.

Claws away, Kitty, claws away. No need for that, dear.

Maybe he can sweep up the hair too…it’s not all mine!

Great idea! I have one of these for the kitchen, but a second one may be just what the doctor ordered! I love the site, found you on Pinterest…can’t wait to keep browsing!

I love finding out we all share the same “in Home” frustrations – hairy bathrooms. Great tip and thankfully my daughter can keep her longer hair and i may grow mine again. Happy Sharefest

I think this is a GREAT idea, I HATE hair on the bathroom floors but don’t always have time to go get the sweeper, having one right there would be so easy to use.
PS–seriously Kitty, If nothing nice to say then SHUT UP.

I actually stash a really thin stick broom/vacuum thing, plug it in real quick and use that and to clean up my long dark hair on my light bathroom floors. When I remodel the bathroom, probably not going to have light floors again though (since I’m brunette)

I have one of these and the problem with it is the broom. It does not pick up all the hair, and when trying to sweep it into the dustpan, the hair is all on the broom.

I bought a big lint roller. $4 at Wal-Mart. It sits in the basket on the toilet tank. In between real mopping and cleaning this works wonders but I warn you the things on your Bath mat and tile will give u the willies!

I have short hair and this is STILL a problem. Thanks for a great tip!

Do women really think like this anymore? Not to be mean, but it sounds like an article from the 1950’s.

Word. I saw this on Pinterest and thought COOL! A new invention! Nope. “My husband suggested cutting my hair short..” Really?? Was cutting really a response to a mess? Cuz I’ve got a suggestion for if he dribbles on the toilet seat..

FYI..anytime you preface something with “not to be mean” you ARE being mean

Cutting your hair doesn’t make it stop falling out, so you will still have hair all over the place.

LoL….if my husband suggested cutting my hair, I’d suggest waxing his downstairs.

Brooms do not work at all for all of my hair, PLUS all of the hair from my hubby- he’s hairy and sheds wayyyyy more than me. I use the Swiffer SeeepVac so that it sucks up all of the hair & dirt that doesn’t get picked up by the micro cloth. SO much better than trying to get all of those hairs with a broom (and off of the broom when they clump together in all of the bristles, yuck!!!!!!) or a lint roller!!!

SweepVac*** sorry, my darn phone was typing sooooooo slow and the autocorrect was going crazy!

Hi, I like this broom but with losing that much hair you may want to get your thyroid checked. I lose a lot of hair normally because I have a lot of hair, but I noticed I was losing more than usual and found out I have Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. Have your Dr. check your antibodies.

“it sounds like an article from the 1950′s.” Haha. Yes Carol, it’s true, there are still women in this day and age that enjoy living in a clean home as opposed to a pig sty.

You could also buy a cheap DustBuster on Amazon. I have a lot of hair and a low thyroid and it saves tons of time.

I so need one for my sons’ bathroom…I swear it looks like Bigfoot shaves himself in their bathroom daily…

My hubby has long hair too! Lol I’m the one usually complaining! I’m getting used to double the hair here and teaching him some tricks!
There are vaccum vent shafts you can have installed in your home that you just sweep the pile into and it sucks it up to a disposal container….might be worth it!

We all have our little quirks. Little things that bother us. I think this is an easy fix for the floor AND the prevention of future arguments.
