When it is cold outside and I am feeling a little under-the-weather, Ron will make me a special night-time drink. We have nicknamed it ‘Corinna’s Honey Hot Toddy.’ This recipe includes two shots of Barenjager honey liqueur, so it is not an everyday drink, but it will really help you sleep when you are not feeling so good.
Corinna’s Honey Hot Toddy
2 shots Barenjager honey liqueur
Hot water
Cinnamon stick
Lemon slice
Place 2 shots of Barenjager in a coffee mug. Fill to top with hot water. Add cinnamon stick and finish with a lemon slice. Drink.
Ron will generally bring this drink to me in bed. I drink it down and then immediately fall asleep. It’s like the adult-version of a cough drop!

Sounds yummy and helpful. I only have about two drinks a decade but maybe I could try this for medicinal purposes.
It is medicinal!
My mom likes to make these too…now I know how to do it! ;)
Thanks for stopping by Emily!
I have never heard of Barenjager honey liqueur but it sounds like it goes great in this drink! Thanks for sharing

I don’t drink liquor very often, but this is one that I choose if I am going to partake.
Never tried this, but now…. I’ll have to remember to try it next time I’m feeling a bit under the weather too. Thanks for sharing your Honey Hot Toddy!

Now you just need to get your husband trained to serve it to you!
Cough, cough, cough. I think I’m starting to feel under the weather…..
This sounds great! We just got a whole bunch of lemons from one of our family member’s tree. So I will be using this recipe for sure! :)

I hope you enjoy it!
I love that liqueur but never thought of using it in a hot toddy. I have a recipe to share. While in Dublin a bartender shared this recipe with me. In a cup stir one teaspoon of brown sugar and one shot of whiskey. Push 4 cloves in a lemon wedge and place in the cup. Add boiling water and enjoy.
I cannot wait to try this recipe! Thank you Brenda!!
