Laundry Closet Decor

Once I fully organized my stacking laundry closet, I decided it was time to kick it up a notch.  I got the idea for this laundry closet decor project from a post by A Beautiful Mess.  They used electrical tape for their design, but that seemed like too much work, so I ordered temporary decals from Urban Wall Decals on Etsy.

First, I cut out the decals and dry-fit them into place with scotch tape.

Once I liked the placement, I removed the scotch tape and decal backing and slowly rubbed the decal onto the washer/dryer with a credit card.  I found that if I started at one edge and finished at the far edge, I would have fewer bubbles.

Once all of the decals were affixed, I went back to remove the bubbles.  I am not at all patient with details…so I had a lot of bubbles.  To remove them, I used a needle to make a microscopic hole in each bubble, then used the credit card to smooth out the bubble until it disappeared.

This project took about 1.5 hours, but only because I had so many bubbles.  You can probably complete the same project in 1 hour.  I just love how it turned out.  Each time I open the door to my laundry closet, I smile!
