Last year I shared my laundry closet makeover from our house in Dallas. At the time, I thought I had a small laundry space…but my new laundry closet (in a loft studio) is much, much smaller. Due to the size, I had to get creative to make everything fit, but I was up for the challenge for this ‘extreme’ laundry closet organization.
I purchased an Elfa door rack from The Container Store to organize all of my laundry supplies and cleaning supplies. I was only able to add four deep bins along the top-half of the door because of the proximity of the washing machine to the door, but I was still able to find a place for each item. The door rack was simple to install (no tools needed!) and will be easy to uninstall and take with me to my next home.
I mounted a utility organizer up high on the wall to keep all of my brooms and mops organized. This left enough space on the floor to slide in a step ladder. I keep my cleaning caddy on top of the dryer so it is easily accessible.
A surprising result of this laundry closet organization project was that I was able to move everything from under the kitchen sink to the laundry closet. Now, what will I keep under the sink??
