I borrowed a friend’s kids this past weekend to paint a bunch of white pumpkins for me. I needed blue, green, and brown pumpkins for a home decorating project (that I will share soon!) It seemed too time-consuming to paint them myself, so I threw a Pumpkin Painting Party. It was a win-win party…fun for the girls and free labor for me!
I got the idea to paint fresh, white pumpkins while reading the Miss Mustard Seed blog the other day. She used her milk paint line to create decorative pumpkins for a table center piece. I did not follow all of the steps she used to create her beauties, but I am quite happy with the results.
We started by washing and drying the pumpkins and putting on our painting smocks….
Then the girls got down to work painting the pumpkins. They really let the creativity flow…just check out the finished pumpkins below.
They told me that these were special rainbow pumpkins that can only be found in Hawaii. I did not realize that Hawaii had rainbow pumpkins…? I am so happy that I did not end up with boring, plain pumpkins (sorry Miss Mustard Seed). I cannot wait to see how they look in my studio!
